Dr. Milliken received his Ph.D. in philosophy from Bowling Green State University in August of 2007. The title of his dissertation was "The Authority of Morality." In it he critically examines several prominent approaches to justifying the special weight often attributed to moral imperatives. His current research continues to focus on issues of normativity in ethics.

He is currently serving as the Program Manager at the Social Philosophy and Policy Center and is responsible for the logistical details of the Center's Conference, Visiting Lecturers, and Visiting Scholars Programs. 

 

Pamela Phillips

Dr. Phillips received her Ph.D. from Bowling Green State University in December 2005. She is currently a postdoctoral teaching and research fellow at the Social Philosophy and Policy Center, participating in the teaching, advising, and dissertation research of philosophy graduate students. Her primary areas of research are ethics and applied ethics. During her stay at the Center, she is also carrying out a research project on the political philosophy of John Locke.
